Heart Shaped World is a collection of nine original songs exploring the many ways love shapes our lives. Each song offers a different perspective on the presence, or absence, of love and its influence on our relationships, our communities, and the choices we make every day. Through stories of gratitude, kindness, resilience, belonging, and hope, the album invites listeners to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the gift of everyday life.

Recorded over a two-year period in Sonoma, California, Heart Shaped World grew through experimentation, collaboration, and live performance before arriving at its final form. Inspired by the sophisticated musicianship and songwriting traditions of Americana, West Coast rock, and jazz-rock, the album reflects musical touchstones such as Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, and Ambrosia while maintaining Michael John Ahern's own narrative voice.
